Body ruins
John McKinley
As the second part of the title indicates, after an accident that made him temporarily unable to work, the artist submits for the Biennale an installation consisting of mutilated terracotta bodies, in ruins, laying on a wooden architecture deriving from industrial production. The ruin, the fainting, the dissipation of the body and the landscape. The engravings, also inspired by antiquity, are revisited as contemporary allegories.
