A nera. Una lezione di tenebra.
Maria Rita Bentini
BLACK $ or Try the rope will be your scope is a tragic, mocking and biting cry. Namely, the installation that Nero dedicates to the idol of the contemporary globalization which subdues everything. The symbol which is here raised to heaven, the new icon to be contemplated in the realm of darkness that surrounds us, is a burnt, huge and oppressive dollar. “Speaking about the darkest bowel, the unstable dismalness built by international economic powers, which day by day absorbs and destroys thousands of individuals, progress, nature and ego”. This is what the artist predicts when he tells about this neopop work, which looks like a cinematographic set, where good people do not exist anymore.
BLACK $ is an object of desire that we can have, if we want, by climbing the stairs hanged in space which enable us to escape from the sacred space of the Museum and conquer the beloved demon. The ladder of success. Making profit. Increase in sales. Choosing as an alternative, being a voyeur, to prefer only to have a look from inside a sheltered world, where if anything to enclose.
