Fanny/Christmas
Pietro Gaglianò
Nero creates Fanny/Christmas, a site-specific installation located in different spaces both outside and inside the Teatro Studio. In accordance with the cutting language – between pop and post-human – which is typical of the artist from Faenza, the project transfigures one of the most loved and abused icon of the western capitalist imagery. In fact, Santa Claus is here represented after having suffered from a neurosis due to fatigue, or maybe with his most true expression on his face. Nero starts a debate on the symbols and violence of mass communication by challenging the easy goodism of the advertising rhetoric.
